Aragonite
Minglanilla area, Cuenca, Comunidad Autónoma Castilla-La Mancha, Spain
6.1 x 3.1 x 5.0 cm
Two large, doubly terminated and cyclic-twinned Aragonite crystals predominate on this specimen, originating from the type locality for Aragonite. Several other crystals are attractively placed. These Aragonites have a spectacular purple hue and a bright luster. The pinacoidal faces are also lustrous and bright, unlike many specimens from this locality. A gemmy crystal penetrates the pinacoid face of the largest crystal. (Author: GneissWare)
