VIEWS OF THE OUTCROPS ALONG THE COAST

Along the rugged coastline between Capo Bianco and Spiaggia di Terranera, the ancient Calamita schists emerge from the azure Tyrrhenian Sea. These dark, metamorphic rocks, forged and folded by immense geological forces, form the foundational canvas of the landscape. Slicing through these timeworn outcrops are starkly contrasting veins — thin dykes of pale leucogranite, injected as molten rock deep within the Earth’s crust. One magnificent outcrop, heavily mineralized and iron-rich, stands as a bold testament to the region’s renowned geological wealth, its rust-hued face meeting the ceaseless embrace of the waves.
