Scheelite and Quartz
Mt. Xuebaoding, Pingwu County, Mianyang Prefecture, Sichuan Province, China
62 x 58 x 48 mm
This well-balanced specimen hosts a lustrous, translucent yellowish-orange Scheelite crystal to 22 mm perched on a Muscovite matrix, and accompanied by a water-clear Quartz measuring 25 x 10 x 9 mm. Several other clear Quartz crystals and several light-cream-colored, translucent feldspar crystals to 7 mm provide additional interest. The edge of the Scheelite has several transparent Fluorite cubes intergrown along it. Only one very tiny chip is present on the Quartz termination. (Author: GneissWare)
