Cassiterite on Muscovite with Beryl and Topaz

Multiple, highly lustrous black Cassiterite crystals are nestled within a matrix of Muscovite blades to 13 mm forming rosettes. Cassiterite is present as both twinned crystals to 32 x 32 x 25 mm and untwinned crystals to 10 mm. Several clear, lustrous Beryl (v. Goshenite) crystals provide an accent. A small sherry-colored Topaz to 7 mm is nestled within one of the Muscovite rosettes; topaz are rare from this locality. (Author: GneissWare)
