Microcline (v. Amazonite) -- cleaned
Lake George area, Park County, Colorado, USA

130 x 124 x 104 mm

Classic, old-time Colorado Amazonite with sharp, light greenish-blue, blocky crystals of Microcline, on a matrix of white Albite (v. Cleavlandite). The Amazonites are well formed and fully terminated, several of which are well-developed twins. One crystal has a "slot" where it once enclosed a blade of what was likely Cleavlandite. This is an old AE Foote specimen, and was later sold by Filer’s (Redlands, CA) and the Bradleys (Los Angeles). Formerly in the Don Boydston and Joel D. Cohen collections. It is complete on all sides, unrepaired and has no damage. (Author: GneissWare)
