Looking down the first part of the descent route from the top of Aiguille du Moine. This is the easiest way up and down the mountain, involving a few abseils on the way down. The route grading is not much easier than the route I climbed up, and follows a way down the South face over to the right (looking up from the bottom), ending at the same spot that I started my route up (South arete). Looking down towards the river Dee from near the top of Ben Macdui. The snow was gone, I found the place this time. Spent three hours crawling about examining the ground, looking for phenakite. Came back with one tiny piece which weighed about 2 grams, and it wasn’t really good enough to be sure what it was! That was all I collected this day, apart from a 5cm strip of red skin where my shirt had ridden up my back from my shorts! Doh! (Author: Mike Wood)

Magnifying even more (FOV 4.3x5.7mm) and looking at one edge of the phantom, whose apex is near the top right corner of the frame, we see that the galena/sphalerite grains rest just on the outside of the phantom shape, while small fibers of metallic luster sit just below the phantom surface. The outer top face of the Fluorite through which we’re looking is almost invisible now! MAIN HOIST ENGINE AT MILPILLAS Siemag Tecberg, a global leader in shaft hoisting technology, supplied the critical hoist machinery for the main hoist shaft at the Milpillas Mine. The installed hoist equipment was capable of handling significant payloads and operating at impressive speeds, often exceeding 15m/s with capacities up to 60 tons per cycle, depending on the mine’s requirements and depth. The installation of such a sophisticated hoist at Milpillas involved a comprehensive process, from initial design and engineering tailored to the mine’s unique geology and production targets, to manufacturing, on-site assembly, and rigorous commissioning. At the Milpillas Mine the hoist was tower mounted. Given the scale and depth of the main production shaft at Milpillas, a multi-rope friction hoist (Koepe winder) was installed. This hoist-in-head-frame layout, with its deflecting sheaves, optimized space and distributed the load across multiple ropes, thereby enhancing safety.
