When I got home after finding the second bone, I discovered that the two pieces fit together perfectly. Two years and over 50 meters apart. Total length of the vertebra is 6.5 cm. Pinite - a pseudo of muscovite after cordierite crystals from the original locality, the Pini Stolln, between Aue and Schneeberg, Erzgebirge, Saxony. The mineral was named after Father Pini, the man who described the "Baveno twins" (microcline) from Baveno, Italy. One day a miner found these twins in a tunnel near Schneeberg. In donation of Father Pini this tunnel was named Pini Stolln. Below the number label you can see a Baveno twin in the granite matrix. In fact one of my collection highlights! Prehnite Sgurr nan Cearcall, nr Glen Brittle, Isle of Skye, Scotland, UK FOV 7cm x 5cm Nice green and quite lustrous prehnite crystals forming thick crusts in very hard basalt.
